Salary: $85,000 to $100,000 per year

As our newest Assistant Site Superintendent, you'll support the Superintendent to ensure that every project is executed with precision and excellence. Under the direction of the Site Superintendent, youll be the eyes and ears out on the site, ensuring our team and subtrades are working to specifications and staying on schedule.

Youll travel for work to locations throughout BC, the Yukon and occasionally the Northwest Territories. Our crews typically work 21/7 rotations, travel in and out of various locations, work 10-hour shifts on average with a daily LOA, and enjoy the comforts of home in well-maintained crew houses.

Your day-to-day includes supervising and coordinating field activities - checking in with your team leads, inspecting the progress, and reporting any issues/concerns to the Site Superintendent. Youll participate in meetings with your team and trade partners to ensure alignment on goals for the day and tackle any outstanding items from the previous day. Updating the Superintendent throughout the day and assisting with any scheduling adjustments, daily reports or safety documentation requirements are additional responsibilities.

  • Field Performance: Youre the point person reviewing site work, including subcontractor activities, and assuring workmanship meets the project quality standards and stays on schedule.
  • Safety as Priority: You promote safety on site and set an example. Everyone is adhering to our program and record keeping requirements because you've set the standard.
  • Scheduling: You've proven yourself to be organized and detail-oriented, and our Site Superintendent relies on you to schedule concrete work and testing, and schedule and supervise other disciplines.
  • Team Mentorship: You assist the Superintendent in driving the site team to work cohesively, aligning efforts toward productivity milestones and maintaining motivation throughout the projects lifecycle.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: When issues/conflicts arise, youre ready to step in with your quick thinking and consistently propose resolutions that works for everyone.

What were looking for:

  • Professional Experience: You bring 5+ years of construction experience to the table with at least two years in a supervisory role.
  • Education/Qualifications: You hold aJourneyperson certificate or equivalent industry related experience and/or education.
  • Communication: Whether it's interacting with our crew or trade partners or clarifying details with the project team, you communicate with confidence and clarity.
  • Technology: Youre proficient with MS Office 365 and are familiar with Procore and Outbuild scheduling software, and youve used Salus or a similar safety program.
  • Certifications:You already hold or are willing to obtain Leadership for Safety Excellence, Workplace Investigation Basics, Fall protection, WHMIS 2015, Elevated Work Platform, and Level 1 First Aid.
