Your Role:

1to1 is currently recruiting for a part-time Communicative Disorders Assistant for Brampton and Etobicoke to support our Community Outreach Stroke Rehabilitation (COSR) program under secure Ministry funding. This program is a unique opportunity to work in partnership with William Osler Hospital and Central West HCCSS. The successful candidate will provide treatment to stroke patients in their homes. 1to1 Rehab was awarded Central West HCCSS Quality Award 2019 with William Osler Hospital, Central West HCCSS, and West GTA Stroke Network.
What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting Children with Communication Challenges:Assist children with speech sound production, fluency, and interactive communication difficulties.
  • Engaging Children and Caregivers:Work closely with children and their families to address communication goals and ensure progress.
  • Fun and Innovative Therapy:Use engaging, child-centered activities, games, and online therapy materials to make sessions enjoyable and effective.
  • Evidence-Based Intervention:Provide therapy based on best practices, tracking progress and adjusting interventions as needed.
  • Collaborating with Families and Teams:Teach, provide feedback, and offer support to families and the childs team to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Supporting SLP Recommendations:Follow the guidance of the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist on speech and language programming, accommodations, and modifications.

What We're Looking For:

  • Communicative Disorders Assistant Certificateor a Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Experience Working with Children: Proven ability to work with children of all ages, providing therapy in-person and virtually.
  • Strong Relationship-Building Skills: Ability to create trusting relationships with families and collaborate effectively with teams.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Both written and verbal, with a focus on clarity and empathy.
  • Organizational Excellence: Manage therapy sessions and client progress efficiently.
  • A Valid Driver's License & Vehicle Access
  • Professional Liability Insurance
  • Police Vulnerable Sector Check
