Job Summary

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the Accounts Payable Administrator will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day payables function for Ottawa Community Ice Partners, Belleville Senators Inc., and the Senators Community Foundation, including the matching and entry of financial information and weekly payment processing.


Main Responsibilities

  • Timely communication with vendors, contractors, and employees on payment status
  • Maintenance and update of the vendor database, including the creation of new vendors
  • PO tracker maintenance and coordination with operations to ensure PO completeness and accuracy
  • Matching invoices to POs and entry/coding of invoices, including tax amounts
  • Preparation of proposed payment runs for review and related journal entries
  • Preparation of electronic payments in the bank, as required
  • Preparation and mailing of cheque runs
  • Assist in refining and improving workflow and payment processes
  • Assist in pulling support for the annual audit
  • Other duties as assigned by the Accounts Payable Supervisor

Job Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma in Accounting or Business Administration
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles and online banking systems
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Comfortable with high volume data entry
  • Attention to detail and accountability for the completeness and accuracy of work
  • Organized and able to manage own time, prioritize work, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt quickly to a changing environment
