Job Summary
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the Accounts Payable Administrator will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day payables function for Ottawa Community Ice Partners, Belleville Senators Inc., and the Senators Community Foundation, including the matching and entry of financial information and weekly payment processing.
Main Responsibilities
- Timely communication with vendors, contractors, and employees on payment status
- Maintenance and update of the vendor database, including the creation of new vendors
- PO tracker maintenance and coordination with operations to ensure PO completeness and accuracy
- Matching invoices to POs and entry/coding of invoices, including tax amounts
- Preparation of proposed payment runs for review and related journal entries
- Preparation of electronic payments in the bank, as required
- Preparation and mailing of cheque runs
- Assist in refining and improving workflow and payment processes
- Assist in pulling support for the annual audit
- Other duties as assigned by the Accounts Payable Supervisor
Job Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma in Accounting or Business Administration
- Working knowledge of general accounting principles and online banking systems
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Comfortable with high volume data entry
- Attention to detail and accountability for the completeness and accuracy of work
- Organized and able to manage own time, prioritize work, and meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt quickly to a changing environment
