Are you a seasoned IT professional looking to take ownership of complex systems and drive impactful solutions? Were seeking a Senior IT Administrator to lead the management, deployment, and optimization of our IT infrastructure. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work with a range of technologies, collaborate with a skilled team, and mentor future hires.


In this role you will utilize the following skills:
What you dont have today, you will enthusiastically learn on demand quickly through Vendor Documentation & Training, Vendor Support, and Internal Coaching/Collaboration.

  • Network & Security: Manage and troubleshoot Sophos and Unifi gateways, Wi-Fi, and switching, with expertise in routing, subnetting, VLANs, ACLs, PoE, DNS, NAT, and firewall rules.
  • Server Administration: Oversee Windows Server environments, including hardware deployment, RAID configuration, OS tuning, and NAS/SAN storage systems. Deploy and manage Active Directory, DNS, RDS, NPS, GPO, Azure integration, and Hyper-V with failover clustering.
  • SQL Server Expertise: Administer SQL servers with a focus on performance monitoring, backup and log management, replication (HA), security, and permissions. Write and optimize SQL queries and statements.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Deploy and manage Microsoft cloud services: Azure, AAD/Entra, Intune, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams (including telephony), and service workflows. Manage licensing, permissions, and resource optimization.
  • Automation & Scripting: Use PowerShell and basic BASH for system configuration, automation, and troubleshooting *nix-based appliances via SSH.
  • End-User & Systems Support: Provide proactive support for servers, endpoints, and user devices (desktops, printers, smartphones). Deliver occasional onsite support and collaborate with helpdesk and engineering teams.
  • Documentation & Mentorship: Maintain detailed documentation (Wiki, SOPs, tickets, and project notes) and mentor junior team members.

Other good to have skills & experience:

  • Experience with VoIP systems (3CX PBX/Yealink), Apple Business Manager, and MDM configuration.
  • Familiarity with Sophos and Huntress security solutions (AV, MDR, Phish testing/training).
  • Proficiency with ConnectWise Manage, Automate, and ScreenConnect, Veeam, and Acronis backup solutions.
  • Experience with OVH Datacenter environments is a plus.

What you bring to the role

  • 5-10 years of Microsoft Systems/Service Administration experience.
  • Technical Diploma/Degree or a demonstration of equal training & experience.
  • Vendor Certifications an asset: Microsoft, Sophos, Cisco, or..?
  • A reliable vehicle + Valid B.C. drivers license.
    • This is a Hybrid/Remote role: You must be able to attend onsite to the Office or Client locations through out the lower mainland without delay if required.
