POSITION SUMMARY:
The Residential Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of one or more residences, as assigned by the Associate Director of Adult Services, and will provide ongoing supervision of staff. They will develop, implement and evaluate residence goals, review policies and procedures and ensure the required standards are maintained. The Housing Supervisor will ensure that the home is maintained to the standards set by Kinsight policies, funding agencies, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and if applicable, the Community Care Facilities Licensing Act. The supervisor will work flex hours and schedule their time based on the needs of each of the homes they are supervising. Residential Supervisors perform duties related to the casual/on call system as directed by the Adult Services Coordinator.


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Certificate in Human Services or Community Support Work or Equivalent
Current Community Care First Aid/CPR, MANDT and Food Safe certificates
Class 4 drivers license preferred
Access to and use of a personal vehicle
Maintain a satisfactory criminal record check throughout employment
Requires union membership


EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES REQUIRED:
A minimum of three years of experience in a residential setting supporting individuals with an intellectual disability;
One year supervisory or administrative experience including experience in budgeting and statistical record keeping;
Excellent written and oral communication;
Time management and organizational skills;
Demonstrated Leadership abilities;
Knowledge of current theory, principles and practices in the field;
Ability to interact effectively with individuals and families;
Must be able to obtain CCF Licensing PIC status


PREFERRED:
Courses/workshops in supervision and financial management, administration, teaching life skills, behavior management techniques, basic counselling. Knowledge of computers and MS/Office software, ability to use alternative communication systems.
