Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Market Captain to lead our market and on-course shop operations. This key leadership role involves overseeing daily activities, ensuring top-tier customer service, and maintaining high standards for inventory management, cleanliness, and team performance. The Market Captain plays a vital role in enhancing the golfing experience for our patrons while fostering a welcoming and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a team of market servers, providing training, guidance, and ongoing support to maintain high-quality service.

  • Create a customer-centric atmosphere by engaging with patrons, addressing inquiries, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience.

  • Oversee daily market operations, including food and beverage service, inventory control, and facility cleanliness.

  • Ensure compliance with ProServe standards and all local/state alcohol service regulations, including ID verification and responsible service practices.

  • Manage inventory levels, restock products, and monitor expiration dates to maintain product freshness and quality.

  • Handle accurate cash transactions and assist with daily sales reconciliation through the point-of-sale (POS) system.

  • Train new staff and provide ongoing coaching to elevate service standards and operational efficiency.

  • Resolve customer complaints or concerns professionally and promptly.

  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth operations and timely service.

  • Assist in planning and executing special events or promotions within the market to enhance guest engagement.

  • Document and report any incidents or accidents that occur during service, following proper procedures.


Requirements
  • Previous experience in food and beverage, retail, or hospitality leadership roles preferred.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to exceptional service.

  • Knowledge of ProServe and alcohol service regulations (or willingness to obtain certification).

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and problem-solve effectively.

  • Comfortable working flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

  • Should be eligible to work in Canada Full Time.

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally, 30lbs frequently, and 20lbs constantly.


Duration: This is a Full-Time seasonal position, April to October. Overtime during busy periods may be required.
