As a member of the Concerts & Events Fan Experience Department of the Toronto Blue Jays, this full-time position is responsible for managing and leading the planning and execution of concerts, concert promotions, ticketed VIP package experiences, non-baseball events, and speciality game-day events at Rogers Centre.
Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager, Concerts & Events, you will assist in continuing to elevate and improve our event business each season. Responsibilities:
- Assist and often manage the planning and execution of all concerts, concert promotions, ticketed VIP package experiences, non-baseball events, and speciality game-day events at Rogers Centre; liaise with internal departments, leading each team to ensure as the venue, we are delivering to the client, while creating memorable fan experiences
- Lead and manage all ticketed VIP packages, tour promotions, and concert activation experiences; liaise with external concert reps and vendors while managing invoicing and settlement with the Sr. Manager, Concerts & Events and Finance team
- Work with the Sr. Manager to develop administrative documents, marketing materials, and event processes as well as work with Sr. Manager and Director, Promotions to oversee the event calendar to ensure seamless venue conversions
- Lead and support Communication and Marketing teams with concert and event announcements, artist gifting, and activations
- Assist in creating venue advance documents; work with internal departments such as Security, Facilities, Ballpark Set-up, Stadium Operations and F&B to ensure information is current and up to date
- Work closely with suites and premium team to maximize the revenue of premium sale opportunities by strategizing the bigger picture when advancing small event and ticketed VIP experience logistics
- Assist and manage the planning and execution of concerts & small events with back of house and front of house teams such as: Field Operations, Ballpark Set-up, IT, Engineering, Technical Production, Security, Stadium Operations, Merchandise, Fan Services, and Facilities
- Provide and lead execution support to the Sr. Manager from load-in to load-out of all concerts. This includes, but is not limited to; catering and dressing room set-up, in-house furniture management, marketing initiatives, venue walkthroughs, artist gifting, F&B, parking, IT, electrician, and conversion staff requests, credential distribution, promoter package administration, activation load-in/out, gate ingress, concourse, and egress support
- Leading and deploy event support staff during concerts and events while overseeing schedules and availability
- Conduct annual research into other venues and brands for best practice in concerts and live event experiences
- Assist with on-field ceremonies and activation aspects of speciality game day entertainment, pregame, in-game and promotions elements associated for baseball when required
- Assist in Club renovation needs from planning, logistic movement, and operations to ensure seamless transition between baseball/concerts seasons and renovations
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments, promoters & vendors. Contribute to creating and maintaining a collaborative culture across internal departments, tour personnel and vendors
Qualifications:
- 3 5 years of progressive event experience including 2+ years of managing relationships or events at a similar level and/or direct venue or promoter experience
- Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Events, Promotions or Marketing preferred
- Experience in budgeting and managing financial details
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize
- Confident and effective communication skills interpersonal, written and verbal
- Demonstrates initiative, willingness to listen and has an openness to feedback
- Team oriented and ability to collaborate across many internal departments
- Successfully able to lead external teams such as promoters, vendors, contractors, and other third-party groups
- Previous experience motivating and leading a team while building cooperative relationships
- Experience in customer service an asset
- Must be capable to deliver in a fast-paced environment
- Must be available for all Rogers Centre concerts/events, with the ability and willingness to work baseball games and other evenings, weekends and holidays throughout the year as required
- Must be able to sustain long physical days
- Legally able to work in Canada
