Job Responsibilities:
- Handle a wide range of insurance defense cases, including property insurance, coverage, fraud, and subrogation.
- Conduct legal research and draft detailed documents to support litigation.
- Attend discoveries, mediations, and court appearances to advocate for client interests.
- Provide strategic legal advice to clients with a commitment to professionalism and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with team members, including associates and clerks, to ensure efficient case progression.
- Participate in weekly department meetings to review caseloads and strategies.
- Engage in professional development activities to stay informed of legal trends and practices.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of training materials or seminars as needed.
- Perform additional related tasks as assigned by senior management.
Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of post-call experience, with a focus on insurance defense litigation.
- Expertise in property insurance, coverage, fraud, or subrogation is a significant asset.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple files effectively.
- Proficient in legal research and drafting tools, with strong technical skills.
- Prior experience in defense litigation is required; plaintiff-only experience is not a fit for this role.
- Willingness to work on-site initially, transitioning to a flexible arrangement as workload permits.
