Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Receiver to join our team in Kingston, Canada. As a Receiver, you will play a crucial role in our warehouse operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of incoming shipments, maintaining inventory records, and supporting overall logistics efficiency.

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments from vendors and transportation carriers
  • Inspect received goods for damage, discrepancies, or defects, and report any issues to the appropriate personnel
  • Verify and count items against purchase orders, packing slips, and other documents
  • Enter receiving data into the company's inventory management system accurately and efficiently
  • Organize and store received items in designated areas of the warehouse
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to received goods
  • Participate in regular inventory counts and audits
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures
  • Coordinate with shipping department to ensure smooth flow of goods in and out of the warehouse
  • Maintain accurate records of damaged or rejected items and initiate return processes when necessary
  • Assist in implementing and improving inventory control procedures
  • Perform quality checks on received items to ensure they meet company standards
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives to support other warehouse functions as needed
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in warehouse or receiving operations
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in operating material handling equipment, particularly forklifts (certification preferred)
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management systems
  • Strong math skills for accurate counting and reconciliation
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) regularly
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
  • Knowledge of receiving procedures and best practices
  • Experience with inventory management systems (preferred)
  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving software (preferred)
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics
  • Forklift certification (preferred)

Salary Range: $41,600 to $45,760
