Job Description

The role of Manager, Corporate Tax is responsible for all tax planning, corporate governance, risk management and compliance work for tax matters across all Robert Bosch entities in Canada. Functional reporting is to the Vice President of Tax and Foreign Trade for the North America Region as well as disciplinary reporting to the General Manager for Robert Bosch Inc. The position is located in Mississauga, ON, and we offer a flexible, hybrid work environment with an expectation of 2-3 days per week in office.

This challenging position offers growth potential and high visibility to leadership within a dynamic, multinational organization. Responsibilities include:

  • Identification and resolution of Canadian tax issues (federal and provincial income tax, GST/PST, customs duties, withholding taxes and any other indirect taxes) as those arise in the course of the day-to-day business operations of Bosch's Canadian entities
  • Management and coordination of external tax advisors with regard to outsourced tax compliance, transfer pricing, and other project-based work
  • Review and supervisory responsibility for internally prepared tax reporting and tax accounting
  • Overall responsibility for the identification and management of tax risks and the reporting thereof to Bosch management and central tax department
  • Coordination of advice on the Canadian tax impact of proposed business transactions, financing transactions, holding company structures, restructuring transactions, and coordination of tax due diligence in any M&A transactions
  • Active participation in the Bosch global tax community for global projects and tax initiatives continuous communication and coordination with other corporate departments
  • Facilitation and management of inquiries and audits from tax authorities and other relevant government agencies local and global.
  • People leadership; people management, growth and development of the Corporate Tax team.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Professional designation: CPA, CA, CGA or CMA
  • Minimum 5-7 years of total Canadian tax experience in both indirect taxation (GST/PST) and corporate income tax in a multinational company
  • Significant experience in tax management, compliance and strategic tax planning at a senior level
  • Strong analytical skills to identify tax risks and opportunities and implement effective solutions
  • Ability to simplify complex tax issues for stakeholders and provide strategic recommendations
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships with internal and external partners
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing people
  • Proven experience in project management with the ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills, results orientation, and intercultural and multidisciplinary awareness
  • Proven collaboration and ability to influence with the ability to work across the organization
  • Ability to travel outside of Canada as required (e.g. Europe, US)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of tax implications in mergers, acquisitions and re-organzations
  • Global accountancy firm (Big 4) experience
  • Foreign Trade experience
