Touchstone Institute works closely with physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers who provide subject matter expertise to assess and improve the level of competency across individual practice. Building on its history to facilitate entry to training or practice for Internationally Educated Health Professionals, Touchstone Institute seeks to continue the work in this area while expanding to support excellence in competent practice for all who deliver health care.
About Practice Ready Ontario (PRO)
Funded by the Government of Ontario, Touchstone Institute works closely with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, the Medical Council of Canada, and others while administering the PRO program. PRO is a workplace assessment program that aims to add internationally trained family physicians or general practitioners who have completed post-graduate training and have an established track record of work in another country to practice in rural communities in Ontario.
Position Description
Reporting to the Vice President of Strategy and Business Performance, the Project Manager oversees projects from planning through delivery. As an embedded member of the PRO program team, they act as a liaison between project team members, cross-functional teams, external stakeholders, and other relevant parties, and provide strategic advice on all aspects of the work to support the timely achievement of organizational outcomes. Their primary responsibility is to ensure effective communication regarding deliverables, requirements, schedules, costs, and meeting plans. The primary focus of this role with be related to the Practice Ready Ontario Program, however, additional projects will be added as capacity to manage permits.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee projects from planning and initiation to execution and completion.
- Lead and collaborate effectively with project team members, cross-functional teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
- Provide strategic advice as needed to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Clearly communicate project deliverables, requirements, schedules, costs, and meeting plans to all parties involved.
- Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues.
- Monitor project progress and performance against established benchmarks to support program delivery on time and on target
- Develop and implement contingency plans to address challenges.
- Ensure project documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Foster strong relationships with internal staff to be able to provide support and solutions for related project needs
- Provides advice and direction to senior leadership to further develop Touchstone Institutes organizational strategy
- Oversees the lifecycle of program integration processes and takes initiative for process improvement possibilities
- Establishes clear project governance structures by identifying project resources and defining roles and responsibilities
Position Requirements
Abilities
- Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time, within budget, and scope.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to contribute strategic advice and guidance to program areas to enhance the work.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
- Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Trello).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to explain complex systems in simple terms
- Strong demonstrable leadership skills with the personal presence to manage internal staff, vendors and consultants
- Thorough knowledge of current web-based and software products, data processing principles and practices and office/project automation principles
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Project Management Professional Certificate (PMP) Required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management.
- Experience in managing government funded projects (Healthcare) is an asset.
We follow a hybrid work model with two designated in-office days:Tuesdays and Wednesdays.Successful candidatesmust be availableto work on-site during these days.
