Job DescriptionThe Lead Water Resources Engineer - Mining Sector , will have the exciting opportunity to integrate with our mining engineering, geotechnical, geological, hydrogeological, geochemistry and civil engineering teams. Together, we provide niche services to solve complex problems in mine water management. You will be at the forefront of delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for our clients across Canada and internationally.
In this client-facing role, you will enjoy engaging with clients and actively participating in business development activities to expand our services and client base. As a leader within the team, you will work alongside the Director of Mine Water Management, playing a key role in supporting our clients and their water management needs

QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or higher preferred
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in water resources engineering, with a focus on mine water management
- Professional Registration: Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility for registration in British Columbia
- Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, GoldSim,) and other relevant engineering tools
- Project Management: Demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex engineering projects from conception to completion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to develop innovative solutions to complex water management challenges
- Business Development experience in proposal writing, client presentations, and participation in industry conferences
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required for project needs.

Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Compensation includes a comprehensive health, dental and vision benefits package. RESPEC is a 100% employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the EPP after a qualifying period.
