What We're Looking For


We are seeking a highly skilled technical lead to join our team. As a Salesforce B2B/DTC Tech Lead at Northern, you will specialize in Salesforce Commerce development and solutions. This role is instrumental in guiding technical project execution, mentoring development teams, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions for a variety of our clients. Our ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge and experience with web technologies, Commerce Web Development (DTC/B2B on Salesforce), Experience Cloud, Lightning Web Components, Service Cloud, CRM, Flows, and Apex programming.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and customize Commerce solutions on the Salesforce platform, including implementing storefronts, customizing user interfaces, integrating with backend systems, and developing integrations with third-party systems (ERP, CRM and payment gateways).
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable architecture for Salesforce projects, ensuring optimal performance and seamless user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to defineproject requirements, scope, objectives and estimates on development efforts, ensuring alignment with client expectations and business goals.
  • Author detailed technical specifications, monitor resource allocation, and manage project timelines effectively to deliver projects on schedule and within scope.
  • Establish and maintain aclear technical vision and strategy for Salesforce development projects, aligning with organizational goals and client requirements.
  • Support pre-sales activities by providing technical expertise in proposals, presentations, and client meetings, showcasing Northerns capabilities and solutions.
  • Monitor industry Salesforce trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation in digital solutions.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and optimization of web-based applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Lightning Web Components, Apex, and related technologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across development processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Conduct thoroughtechnical feasibility assessments and contribute insights to project proposals and timelines.
  • Act as akey facilitator in Agile development processes, overseeing sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups to foster team collaboration and project delivery excellence.
  • Provide strong technical leadership, conducting comprehensive code reviews, and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices for Commerce development on Salesforce.
  • Develop and maintain integrations with third-party systems, such as ERP, CRM, and payment gateways, to enable seamless data flow and transaction processing.
  • Trouble shooting and resolving issues reported by users or identified through testing, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Create and maintain documentation for developed solutions, including technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and code documentation.
  • Maintain ahigh level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions, representing the development team and the organization positively.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Salesforce B2B Commerce accreditation is required.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Apex programming language.
  • Experience with Salesforce Lightning Platform / Lightning Web Components, and Apex.Strong understanding of web technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools, such as Jira and Git.
  • Understanding of eCommerce best practices, SEO, and performance optimization.
  • Proven experience in leading Salesforce eCommerce development projects and supporting pre-sales proposals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-function teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with Salesforce Order Management and Salesforce Payments
