BKL Consultants Ltd. is looking for a Senior Acoustical Consultant to join our team. While the role is based in Vancouver, we are open to remote candidates who can work within Pacific Time Zone hours. As a senior member of our team, you will take on high-profile projects that will shape the acoustical landscape of Vancouver. Your expertise will be pivotal in crafting innovative solutions in critical industries such as healthcare, transportation, commercial, and residential. In addition to managing technical projects, you will play a key role in teaming to mentor junior consultants and engaging with AHJs and other industry leaders who are eager to strengthen acoustical practices and standards.

What Youll Do

  • Lead Projects:Take full ownership of project lifecycles, from proposal preparation to data analysis and report delivery, while managing client expectations and deadlines.
  • Collaborate and Mentor: Lead and mentor a team of junior consultants, while working closely with BKLs engineers, administrators, and other professionals to meet project goals.
  • Advocate for Acoustics: Represent BKL at meetings and public forums, acting as an advocate for the promotion of acoustics in both private and public sectors.
  • Thought Leadership: Write and present technical reports, publish research, and lead seminars to help shape the future of acoustics in Western Canada.

What Youll Bring to the Job

  • A minimum of 8 years of consulting experience in acoustics, with a focus on building acoustics.
  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Acoustics, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng. or equivalent).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • The ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism, flexibility, and diplomacy.
  • Strong technical expertise, with a solid understanding of acoustics and the ability to engage with stakeholders to influence policy and practices.
  • Experience with acoustical modelling software, test equipment, and methodologies for sound and vibration measurements.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC procedures in a consulting environment.

  • Annual salary of $100,000 to $130,000, with overtime paid at time-and-a-half.
