Currently we are accepting applications for a full-time Purchasing Assistant with 2-3 years of experience in non-ferrous metals purchasing to join our growing team. This position will be located at our Delta branch.

Responsibilities:

  • Source and obtain price quotations from catalogues and suppliers, preparing purchase orders.
  • Compare quotes and submit them for review or authorization.
  • Fulfill purchasing demands and communicate with suppliers.
  • Calculate order costs and forward invoices to the appropriate accounts.
  • Process purchases within purchasing authority.
  • Contact suppliers to schedule deliveries and resolve shortages, late deliveries, or order issues.
  • Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports, and price lists.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal teams.
  • Provide coverage for the Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, specifically in non-ferrous metals.
  • Post-secondary education or relevant work experience in purchasing or administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and MS Project).
  • Ability to learn new software applications quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong time management skills to handle daily responsibilities effectively.
