The Opportunity
As a result of our expanded growth, an immediate opportunity exists in our Surrey Capital Works office for a Construction Coordinator. This position will focus on day-to-day internal coordination activities supporting the work of various Contract Administrators, including close coordination with project design teams. The Construction Coordinator role will also encompass key administrative functions, including managing project files, processing correspondence, and maintaining accurate records.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate effectively with Contract Administrators, Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, Inspectors, and other staff as required.
- Assist the Project Team with preparation of project budgets related to Construction Services.
- Maintain regular communication with Contract Administrator, Project Managers and Inspectors and Clients regarding project status.
- Participate in project status meetings (Onsite or online).
- Prepare meeting agenda, take notes and records of the outcomes of these meetings for project record purposes and distribute meeting minutes and field reports to distribution list.
- Cooperate with and assist Contract Administrator, Project Managers with Client relations related to construction and contract administration.
- Provide timely responses to all parties as needed to ensure completion of the works.
- Conduct or participate in pre-construction meetings.
- Receive and file all incoming and outgoing correspondence related to the project, manuals, testing packages and other documents and post-construction submittals.
- Assemble and verify construction contract change orders, site instructions information for approval by Contract Administrator, Project Manager and Owner.
- Review and process contractor payment requests for preparation of Certificate of Payment.
- Maintain favorable working relations with Municipal, Client and Contractor representatives.
- Effectively support of assigning in the projects through construction.
- Update and create project tracking for all construction projects active or post construction. Track project progress and work with Contract Administrator, Project Manager to obtain authorizations/approvals for changes in schedule/scope.
- Any other duties, as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience within a civil engineering firm preferred
- Intermediate/advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Valid Driver's License.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to work simultaneously on several different projects with a sense of urgency and manage multiple tasks at one time
- Ability to meet pending deadlines, prioritize work and emergency work requests
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $62,000 to $72,000 per year, commensurate with experience, skillsets, and qualifications.
