We are currently looking for a Network Engineer for our worldwide IT consulting and services firm that is working with a major auto manufacturer on a long term project.

Location: Hybrid - 4 days onsite in Cambridge, ON, 1 day remote

Total Hours Approved Per Role: 40h/week
Rate/Salary: $55-60/hr C2C
End Client Location: Cambridge, ON
Work location: full on site 4 days a week in Cambridge and 1 day remote with on site in Woodstock ( approx 5 times/month)
Position Summary:
We are looking to engage an experienced network engineer to manage and maintain our company's enterprise network. As a network engineer, you will be responsible for researching, designing, and implementing improvements to our network as well as handling advanced support issues and mentoring junior staff. Ultimately, you will be a key member of a team that is responsible for the functional management of our network and the resolution of network issues.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy and support our enterprise network (LAN, WLAN, WAN, Wireless).
- Configure, install, and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Monitor network performance and integrity.
- Mentor team members on technical issues
- Maintain complete technical documentation.
- Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability
Experience:
- Cisco switch administration: 5 years +
- Cisco router administration: 5 years +
- Cisco wireless administration: 3 years +
- Palo Alto firewall: 3 years +
Requirements and Skills:
Knowledge and experience required:
- Professional certification (e.g., CCNP, CCIE).
- Solid background in network administration and architecture.
- In-depth understanding of communication protocols (TCP/IP) and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
- Network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
- Cisco Nexus and Catalyst Switches
- Cisco wireless controllers and access points.
- In-depth understanding of network operating systems (Cisco IOS, PAN-OS).
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Organizational and mentoring skills.
- Leading small projects.
Knowledge and experience preferred:
- Cisco ISE
- Cisco DNA Center
- Wireless troubleshooting tools (ie. Site survey tools)
Familiarity with the following would be beneficial:
- Network Monitoring with Entuity, DataDog, Cacti and Solarwinds
- ITIL processes
- Scripting
- Data Cabling
- APC UPS

- This is primarily an onsite position with work from home available 1 day per week. Emergency support and approved after hours and weekend implementation support can be remote unless the situation requires someone to be onsite.
- This role will include daily break/fix activity as well as project work.
