As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing complex construction projects, ensuring that they meet all client and company requirements. You will lead a team, manage project budgets, schedules, and contracts, and ensure safety and quality standards are upheld throughout the project lifecycle. In this role you will be on site full-time beginning at our project in Saskatchewan after which, there will be a requirement to travel to different sites across North America.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Leadership
· Oversee and manage large and complex construction projects valued at $20 million or more, ensuring successful delivery from inception to completion.
· Provide clear direction to project teams, fostering collaboration and maintaining alignment with client requirements and company standards.
Schedule & Budget Management
· Develop, manage, and update project schedules, ensuring that all timelines are adhered to.
· Track and analyze costs, preparing accurate cost forecasts and managing the budget to minimize variances.
· Identify potential cost-saving measures and implement improvements to enhance cost performance.
Safety Oversight
· Champion the safety culture on-site by ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
· Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and meetings, including Tailboard meetings, addressing safety issues proactively.
· Lead the implementation of safety improvements to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment for all involved.
Client and Stakeholder Communication
· Maintain strong and effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
· Address client needs and concerns promptly, ensuring all contractual obligations and scope changes are properly managed and documented through Change Orders.
· Lead negotiations for contract changes to ensure the company's interests are protected while maintaining positive client relations.
Team Leadership
· Lead a diverse team of up to 7 individuals, including Project Managers, administrative support, and field staff.
· Provide mentorship and guidance to ensure project objectives are met, team members are well-supported, and professional development is promoted.
· Foster a collaborative environment where all team members are motivated and work cohesively toward project success.
Risk Management & Problem-Solving
· Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks, ensuring that any potential issues are addressed before they impact project delivery.
· Proactively develop contingency plans, track project risks, and adjust strategies as necessary to avoid negative impacts on the project's success.
Contract & Subcontractor Management
· Review and interpret contracts and subcontractor agreements, ensuring compliance with terms.
· Lead the process for pre-qualifying subcontractors, issuing bid packages, and evaluating proposals.
· Oversee subcontractor performance, addressing issues as they arise and making necessary adjustments to keep the project on track.
Reporting & Documentation
· Ensure that all required project reports (daily, weekly, and monthly) are prepared and distributed on time.
· Maintain accurate documentation related to the project, including meeting minutes, change orders, quality assessments, and safety audits.
· Regularly report project status, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferred education includes a bachelor level degree (B.S.) in Construction Management, an Engineering discipline related to the Company's work, or similar technical degree. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Experience in transmission or powerline construction is required.
- 10+ years leading construction projects preferably in a field involving linear construction.
- Demonstrated experience managing construction projects with contract values of at least $20 million and multiple staff and crew members.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of sub-scopes and sub-trades.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Highly effective at building and managing client/vendor relationships.
- Flexible, able to work long hours if required.
- Self-motivated, goal and team-oriented attitude.
- Able and willing to coach and mentor.
- Able and willing to travel as needed.
- Able and willing to communicate effectively (written and oral) with all levels of management and industry contacts.
