Our client has asked us to recruit for a Systems Administrator for a permanent position. The System Administrator will maintain the network infrastructure as well as provide support for the Azure environment. This person will provide technical leadership on infrastructure capabilities and be passionate about solving problems.
As a System Administrator, you will work across many systems and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. You can address problems with a collaborative approach, and you have a strong attention to detail, focused on uptime and predictability.
This role is critical to ensuring the stability of their infrastructure and will involve some on-call support responsibilities.
Here is what you will be doing on a day-to-day basis:
- Maintainance and support internal Cisco/Meraki network infrastructure. Perform upgrades as needed.Administration of DNS/DHCP and IP ranges.
- Maintainance and administration of the Zscaler infrastructure, including rules changes and log monitoring
- Primary security resource Coordinate with external security provider on security monitoring and response.Implementation of CIS controls in coordination with other groups.
- Implementation and maintenance of VM backups.Disaster recovery administration in coordination with DevOps.
- Administration of the Microsoft365 environment, including backups.Administration of Active Directory.
- Patching of Windows virtual machines, as well as applying application patches and upgrades as required.
- In coordination with Senior DevOps Engineer, maintain and support servers in the Azure environments.
- Backup support on the Azure environment, troubleshooting and resolving issues as needed.
- Document network infrastructure and keep documentation up to date.
- Stay on top of industry trends and best practices and discuss with senior management opportunities for improvement.Implement changes as needed.
- Troubleshoot issues that arise and communicate with the affected teams using internal systems and MS Teams.
Here is the type of person we are looking for:
- 5+ years experience in systems administration, including 3+ years of experience in supporting applications and functions in the Azure Cloud
- Knowledge of network protocols such as: DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, SFTP
- Knowledge of Network and TCP/IP routing/subnetting.
- Strong knowledge of Backup, Restore, Recovery and high availability strategies for Microsoft Azure environments.
- Strong knowledge of IaaS and PaaS services
- Windows Server and SQL database creation, configuration, upgrade, migration and patching
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving Azure environment performance issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot Azure server and SQL database related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resources
- Knowledge of Cisco/Meraki network equipment and Zscaler a plus
- Flexible and resilient, comfortable, and adaptable to a high-change environment and open to new concepts and/or processes
- Genuine passion and curiosity towards tech through experiment, evaluation, and continuously learning and eager to share newfound knowledge and mentor others
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Salary range: $110-120k
