Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic - All Levels Considered
Red Arrow is currently seeking a full-time Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic for its Calgary-based shop. This is an opportunity to be part of a growing company that offers competitive wages, professional growth and work-life balance.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will work in a fast-paced environment maintaining a large fleet of motor coaches. Red Arrow offers an above-average work environment with an emphasis on safety and training. To qualify for the Apprentice Mechanic position, you must be a reliable self-starter with strong interpersonal skills.
The successful candidate will be working 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday.

Qualifications
- Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic - 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Year considered
- Class 1, 2 or 3 driver's licenses with airbrake endorsement considered an asset
- Strong computer and diagnostic equipment skills
- Experience with Volvo D13, Detroit Series 60, Allison B500 transmissions, Bendix and Wabco air brake systems considered an asset
- Familiar with latest aftertreatment technology, electrical and multiplex systems
- Ability to organize and triage work and repairs
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time management skills and well-developed communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Comprehensive screening and background checks are required, including references, drug and alcohol testing and a criminal record check
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintenance/repair of motorcoaches
- Respond to breakdowns
- Spring and winter maintenance
- Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs
