About the Role
Our team at Alpaca Systems Ltd. is seeking a Customer Support Technicianto join our team with providing support with multiple requests. The successful candidate will have strong customer service skills and flexibility to resolve inquiries, as well as be able to troubleshoot and triage when necessary.
Position Details
- Status: Full-Time
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
- Location: Calgary, AB (NE)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide Service Desk technical support to users either via phone or email as required
- Provide troubleshooting for all types of technical inquiries, Software Issue(Including inhouse APPs), Hardware issues and requirements.
- Suggest improvements based on customer feedback and pain points
- Develop, implement, and/or participate in the preparation of knowledge base articles and/or documentation for Service Desk use
- Maintain a professional and empathetic approach to customer interactions.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Post Secondary Education in a computer related field preferred
- 1-2 years working experience in Customer Service with IT devices
- Working knowledge of Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 365 in operations, deployment, and troubleshooting
- Excellent communication and customer service skills and the ability to work with a variety of clients at all levels
- A strong desire to learn and adapt to new opportunities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
- Possesses a valid class 5 license and availability to occasionally travel between offices
- Must be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Nice to Have Skills and Experience
- Experience with building and repairing computer hardware and a working knowledge of past and existing computer hardware components/technologies, an asset
- Experience with Active Directory, Domain Services; Windows operating systems (consumer/server), MS Exchange (Outlook), MS Office/365 applications; Network (LAN/WAN) concepts, VPN technologies; Mobile Technologies (Smartphones/Tablets), and Printers, an asset
- Knowledge of using an IT Service Management or ticketing system to manage Incidents and Service Requests, an asset
- A theoretical or working knowledge of virtualization and remote application delivery services, an asset
- ITIL/Cobit, Comp TIA or MCSE certifications, an asset
