Job Summary:We are looking for an Electric Motor Rewind Technician who will be responsible for the repair, rewinding, and maintenance of electric motors. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with both AC and DC motors, transformers and a solid understanding of motor rewinding techniques, diagnostic procedures, and motor troubleshooting.Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair both AC and DC electric motors, ensuring they meet industry standards and operational requirements.
  • Perform rewinding services for various motor types, including both low and high voltage motors.
  • Perform rewinding services for various transformer types, including single and three phase types.
  • Inspect and test motors to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards.
  • Rewind and reassemble motors to original specifications, ensuring proper insulation, coil winding, and assembly.
  • Utilize various tools and equipment to carry out motor repairs and diagnostics.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, including repairs and rewinding procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and regulations while working with electrical components.
  • Work closely with other team members to complete repair jobs efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Provide recommendations for motor improvements and preventive maintenance strategies to clients.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Electric Motor Rewind Technician, with a strong background in both AC and DC motor repair and rewinding.
  • Ability to work with various types of motors, including induction motors, synchronous motors, transformers and others.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams & connections, and motor testing procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Experience with motor testing equipment such as insulation resistance testers, multimeters, and megohmmeters.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and motor specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform work to high standards of quality and safety.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification or trade school training in electrical motors or a related field is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional certifications or training in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Previous experience working in a motor repair shop or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of motor control systems and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
