TAAG is a multidisciplinary firm offering a wide range of services for small and medium-sized businesses, individuals, governmental and non-governmental organizations. TAAGs service lines include accounting and bookkeeping, tax planning, multi-family office services including wealth management, business and corporate law, and marketing and design. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Tax Analyst to join our dynamic team.

The Senior Tax Analyst will play a critical role in the preparation, analysis, and reporting of tax compliance and strategy. This position offers the opportunity to lead key initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize tax processes and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review federal and provincial tax returns, including related schedules and disclosures.
  • Monitor tax filing deadlines and maintain compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Correspondence with tax authorities, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in tax compliance and reporting.
  • Provide tax-related guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions from a tax perspective.
  • Develop and enhance processes to improve tax reporting and compliance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement tax strategies and process improvements.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and assess their impact on the company.
  • Actively promote the firms services to clients and prospects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or a related field (CPA or equivalent designation preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in tax or public accounting.
  • Strong understanding of tax laws and accounting principles (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  • Proficient in tax software and systems (e.g. Sage 50 or equivalent).
  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience in financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Effectively implements client service plans for complex engagements, collaborating closely with the team to exceed client expectations while proactively identifying and mitigating business risks.
