Why this role is significant

As a Sushi Cook, you play an important role in preparing delicious and consistent sushi and sashimi items, leaving guests satisfied and eager to return. You will work independently but play a critical role in contributing to the overall guest experience with our sushi offerings. You bring a deep understanding of Japanese culinary techniques, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

A day in the life

• Prepare sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and other sushi items.
• Ensure freshness and quality of ingredients used in sushi preparation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area.
• Work closely with other colleagues to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service.
• Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continuously improve sushi menu offerings.

What we hope you'll bring to the team

• Proven sushi experience and strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine.
• Minimum of 2 years of sushi experience preferred.
• Excellent knife skills and sushi preparation techniques.
• The ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• A sense of self-leadership and accountability for your work.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Strong time management skills and confidence in your own abilities.
  
• Must have access to reliable transportation to Brentwood Bay.
  
• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods of time.
