Position Summary

As a Structural Engineer, your role requires a balance of office-based design work and on-site technical supervision, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Your expertise in construction methods, materials, and AutoCAD will be critical in delivering structurally sound and innovative solutions. As a Structural Engineer your key accountabilities will involve:

  • Designing and analyzing building structures, ensuring they meet structural integrity standards.
  • Developing detailed structural models using AutoCAD and other design software.
  • Assessing environmental and human-induced loads to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Selecting appropriate construction materials aligned with project specifications.
  • Supervising and providing technical guidance to on-site construction teams.
  • Ensuring adherence to construction safety regulations and standards.
  • Managing budgets effectively and allocating resources appropriately.
  • Monitoring and reporting on project progress, identifying and resolving any challenges.
  • Collaborating closely with contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders.

As a Structural Engineer your success is dependent on:

  • The ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • The ability to build solid long-lasting relationships
  • The ability to anticipate problems and solve proactively with a strong technical mindset
  • A high attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills, particularly the ability to prioritize a multitude of tasks


As a Structural Engineer your experience and qualifications will include:

  • Proven experience as a Structural Engineer or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software is a bonus.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with a data-driven approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Bachelors degree in Structural Engineering; a Masters degree is a plus.
  • Membership with the Institute of Structural Engineering not required.
