Role Overview

As a Senior Full Stack Developer at our company, you will play a vital role in developing innovative projects that aim to simplify the lending process for Canadians. You will work closely with our existing development team and be responsible for regularly creating and enhancing both back-end and front-end applications.

NOTE: This is a full-time, on-site position located at our downtown Vancouver office.

What Youll Be Doing

• Developing, enhancing and maintaining in-house and customer-facing applications
• Collaborating with the back-end team to ensure seamless integration and functionality
• Mentoring and leading junior/intermediate developers and providing guidance throughout the development process
• Implementing both back-end and front-end solutions using PHP, Python, JavaScript, ES6 Syntax, and modern JS frameworks such as Vue, Angular, React, or Server-side rendering frameworks like Nuxt, NeXT.
• Ensuring cross-browser, cross-platform, and cross-device compatibility for consistent user experience
• Utilizing relational databases like MySQL and Postgres for data storage and retrieval
• Working on 3rd party integrations, particularly with systems in the financial industry.
• Building and consuming REST-style APIs and GraphQL.
• Ensure sufficient code coverage by writing effective unit tests.
• Creating technical content for JIRA tasks/sub-tasks, breaking down complex requirements.
• Socialize JIRA stories/tasks you are responsible for with others on the team.
• Actively participate in architectural systems design along other senior team members.
• Working closely with project managers, quality and business analysts to ensure the completion of projects on time with the quality expected
  

What You Should Already Have

• 4+ years of professional experience in PHP, Python, and JavaScript
• 2+ years of experience with modern JS frameworks such as Vue, Angular, React, or Nuxt
• 4+ years of experience with Linux
• 5+ years of experience with relational databases like MySQL or Postgres
• Proficiency in using Git and working with GitFlow
• Familiarity with back-end MVC frameworks, particularly Laravel (versions 8-11)
• Knowledge of AWS services, especially serverless stack (SAM, Serverless, Containerization)
• Experience working under Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) using Jira and confluence.
• Experience designing and implementing responsive, user-friendly interfaces using CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Contentful, Framer, Sanity), with a focus on performance, accessibility, and SEO optimization.
• Customize themes, extend CMS functionality with custom code. Streamline content management workflows, leveraging expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and component libraries.
• Familiarity with headless CMS technologies and their implementation is a strong advantage.

Bonus

• Experience with responsive web design and grid frameworks, Tailwind CSS,
• Demonstrate knowledge of AWS services and infrastructure
• Experience with NoSQL databases like DynamoDB, MongoDB, or Cassandra
• Proficiency in CSS3 advanced features, including animations, transitions, and flex-box layouts
• Unit testing frameworks like Jest, Pytest, Enzyme etc.
