West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Our Quesnel Plywood division in Quesnel, British Columbia, is recruiting for a Student Accounts Payable Clerk.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role on our Quesnel Plywood Finance team is a temporary summer position from May 1 to August 31 with possibility for extension.

You'll do:

• Enter accounts payable into Oracle Financials
• Ensure invoices and cheque requests are properly supported and approved
• Review account coding and correct any miscoding
• Ensure the accuracy of sales tax (GST and PST) and identify and calculate self-assessments where required
• Match invoices to approval batches
• Prepare account reconciliations
• Manage front desk reception
• Provide month end accounting support
• Support to the team in additional junior duties as needed

You have:

• Post-secondary training in administration or accounting or
1 to 2 years experience in a similar role
• Experience in Oracle accounts payable is an asset
• High degree of accuracy with numbers and strong attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Must be flexible and be able to adjust to changing workloads and tasks
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite, advanced Excel skills
• A self-starter with the initiative to learn and grow
