Class 1 Driver

Firma Contracting is seeking experienced Class 1 Drivers to work in the Edmonton area. This position provides steady hours and includes perks like long weekends off, health and dental benefits, RRSP matching, and a great work culture.

This position supports Firma's work in the Edmonton area so it requires drivers that are familiar with the city and also able to maneuver in tight / congested areas at times. We are looking for someone who is safety conscious, great at taking care of the trucks and ensuring that preventative maintenance is done.

Job Responsibilities

• Operating tandems and/or truck & pup in and around the Edmonton area
• Prepare all commercial driving documentation as required (pre/post inspections, logbooks, hazard assessments, etc.)
• Prepare load / delivery documentation as needed
  
• Completion of commercial carrier requirements
  
• Load and unload materials in congested areas
  

Job Requirements

The following qualifications are required:

• 3+ years of experience with operating tandems / truck and pup
• Valid Class 1 drivers licence
• Clean drivers abstract
• Commercial carrier training
• Ability to maneuver in tight spaces / congested areas
• Reliability: show up for work punctually and fit for duty
  
• Physically fit and capable of heavy manual labour (lifting / moving up to 50lbs)
  
• Great communicator and ability to follow directions
• Team player with a positive attitude
  
• Reliable with a strong work ethic
