Job Description:

The Warehouse Operator at Atmosphere Flooring Solutions is the boots-on-the-ground part of the Logistics team.

The Warehouse Operator works under the supervision of the Logistics Manager and the Freight Coordinator to accomplish all day-to-day tasks involved in the handling of inbound, stored, and outbound materials. A few examples of Warehouse Operator responsibilities are:

• Offloading and loading materials onto trucks by hand and via forklift
  
• Moving inventory into and between various storage locations by hand and via forklift
  
• Handling and processing shipping documentation
• Reading shipping documents to pick materials out of storage and stage for delivery or pickup
• Performing calculations on shipping documentation figures to convert quantities between boxes, pieces, square footage, etc.
  
• Using our proprietary software platform to gather additional information or check details regarding shipping documentation
  
• Using our proprietary software platform to attach physical locations to digital inventory records and continuously update them
• Performing precision measurements and cutting rolled-goods inventory such as carpet
  
• Safely packaging bundles of materials to prepare for transport
• Enforcement of company policies regarding unauthorized attempts to take material from the warehouse
• Opening and closing the warehouse facility
• Monitoring and ordering shop supplies (shrink wrap, labels, etc)
• Driving 3 and 5 ton trucks on occasion to relocate them within our facilities, take them to maintenance shops, or transfer materials between warehouse locations
• Cleaning and organization of warehouse facility

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates for Warehouse Operator tend to be highly organized, physically fit people who work methodically with attention to detail and are comfortable following and upholding the rules of a rigid system.

Atmosphere does not require Warehouse Operator candidates to hold any specific qualifications as training can be provided for all required functions. The following skills and knowledge are, however, distinguishing:

• Familiarity with general shipping documentation such as packing slips, pick tickets, and bills of lading
  
• Familiarity with building material in general, or better with flooring related materials directly
  
• Familiarity with warehousing environments and accompanying safety programs and protocols
• Familiarity with safely packaging materials on pallets
• Forklift certification (both standing and counter-balance forklifts)
• Experience using forklifts with pallet storage racking
• Competence using computers

Compensation:

• $22 / hour to start
• Benefits plan available after probationary period
