Salary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Designer to join our dynamic Design team in Beamsville, ON. The Designer will play a key role in designing innovative automated irrigation systems, optimize the growth and productivity of plants in environments such as greenhouses, vertical farms, and indoor farming facilities. You will also be responsible for quoting and processing orders for clients, ensuring the seamless transition from design concept to production.

Responsibilities:

Design custom irrigation systems based on the customers irrigation requirements

Use AutoCAD to generate Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and 2D Layouts of piping and equipment

Communicate with CAD department to generate 3D drawing packages when needed

Generate quotes from customer requests, both internal and external

Perform site visits to verify design requirements and accurate information

Process material lists for all your own projects

Collaborate with suppliers and partners to fulfill quote requirements

Collaborate with all departments to ensure optimal results

Communicate with sales representatives, customers, and industry partners as required

Adhere and follow all Zwart Systems Safety, Policy and Procedures and Protocols

Participate in training activities as required

Prepare accurate quotes for clients by evaluating design specifications, material costs, labor estimates, and lead times, ensuring alignment with project budgets and timelines

Assist the Project Manager in managing project costs and ensuring that orders stay within budget and are completed on schedule

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities required)

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field
  • P.Eng (Professional Engineer) certification required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong ability to function well under pressure
  • Ability to work well individually or as part of a team
  • Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD software
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints
