Our Quesnel Corporate Division is currently recruiting a Supply Chain Manager to join our corporate Supply Chain Team providing services to West Fraser's operations across North America.

You'll Do:

  • Vendor Relationship Management:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of vendors to enhance collaboration and support operational needs.
    • Work closely with vendors, operations, and the Supply Chain Team to identify opportunities for spend consolidation, align vendor support with operational requirements, and negotiate contracts that meet business needs.
  • Contract Negotiation and Value Optimization:
    • Negotiate pricing and programs to ensure West Fraser achieves the best overall value and quality from its vendors.
    • Conduct analyses to identify opportunities for savings and quality improvements.
  • Supplier Performance Improvement:
    • Establish and maintain operating rhythms with vendors, conduct contractual negotiations, and perform regular performance reviews.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve vendor performance metrics.
  • Policy Improvement and Compliance:
    • Identify areas for improvement in West Fraser's policies and facilitate necessary edits and change management initiatives.
    • Provide guidance and training to operations teams to ensure compliance with corporate policies and controls.
  • Risk Mitigation and Supply Chain Optimization:
    • Proactively monitor and manage supply chain lead-time risks by maintaining close communication with key vendors.
  • Savings and Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and achieve year-over-year savings through strategic negotiations and supply chain initiatives.
    • Lead and implement continuous improvement projects with vendors and operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Training and Policy Promotion:
    • Support the development and delivery of training programs on practices, controls and company policies.
  • Special Projects:
    • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned by management.

You have:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, Forestry, Business, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, operations, or sourcing within a manufacturing environment.
  • Key Skills:
    • Collaboration and Leadership: Ability to work across departments to resolve issues and build systems and processes, with the capacity to lead through influence.
    • Cost Savings and Negotiation: Proven experience in implementing cost-saving initiatives and negotiating contracts.
    • Data Analysis: Ability to gather, consolidate, and analyze large datasets.
    • Communication: Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.

What will make you stand out:

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work across departments to resolve issues and develop systems and processes.
  • Change Management: Successful track record of implementing programs across multiple sites with diverse interests.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with ERP systems like Oracle and Maximo.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of forestry manufacturing facilities.

Travel

  • Must be able and willing to travel up to 50% of the time via car and air to assist our operations across North America.

Compensation Package:

  • The salary range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location.
