What we offer:
- Salary: $80,000 to $90,000

- Conduct site visits to collect measurements and verify existing conditions.
- Prepare rough sketches and review with the design team for feasibility and accuracy.
- Create detailed, construction-ready drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, including elevations, site plans, floor plans, sections, and details.
- Develop 3D renderings and virtual walkthroughs when required to assist clients in visualizing the final product.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and constructability principles in all designs.
- Attend weekly construction site meetings with Project Managers and Site Supervisors to review progress and address design-related queries.
- Act as a liaison between the architect and construction teams, ensuring adherence to design specifications and making necessary adjustments under the supervision of the Design Manager.
- Monitor and maintain quality control standards, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in drawing production.
- Report regularly to the Design Manager on project status, challenges, and required adjustments.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, overseeing designs from preliminary concepts through construction completion.
- Drafting certificate required; a BSc in Engineering, Architecture, or a Diploma in Engineering and Construction Technology is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in drafting and design for wood-frame, steel and concrete building construction for commercial and multi-family projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit with experience in 3D modeling tools.
- Knowledge of part 3 and part 9 of the Manitoba Building Code, and experience securing municipal and city permits.
- Strong structural understanding and working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret construction documents, including blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, mechanical, and electrical professionals.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Project); and familiarity with Bluebeam is considered an asset.
