Civil Construction Foreperson
Milestone Equipment Contracting Inc is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Construction Foreperson to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating civil construction projects, serving as a pivotal link between management and the construction crew. The Civil Construction Foreperson will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and deadlines. Responsibilities include supervising and guiding team members, managing project schedules and budgets, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and maintaining a strong focus on quality control and safety. Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Leadership
- Lead by example in ensuring safety is priority number one and supporting a positive safety culture.
- Execute field expertise to meet schedule and production requirements.
- Lead toolbox meetings, SWP reviews, incident reviews, and weekly safety meetings.
- Communicate effectively with the Superintendent and ensure accurate reporting of work, resources, and production by the end of each shift.
- Drive quality control programs and ensure industry and organizational best practices.
- Report unforeseen project changes and coordinate with crew, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Complete daily quantity surveys and report to support month-end billing.
- Follow the use of POs for supplies and assist in completing material receiving reports.
- Ensure the collection of as-built data and ensure daily quality assurance hold points and survey checks are within tolerance.
- Communicate survey needs to the Superintendent.
Team Leadership
- Support the Superintendent with daily work and reporting.
- Supervise site staff and ensure proper construction techniques and adherence to quality standards.
- Mentor and coach the construction team to maintain quality and safety standards.
- Develop team members, including operators, pipelayers, and laborers.
- Represent Milestone professionally within the organization and the community.
- Review and contribute to the next days work plan with the Superintendent.
- Lead by example, demonstrating Milestone values and motivating the construction team.
Resource Management
- Accurately report equipment hours daily to the Superintendent.
- Communicate resource needs proactively, including tools and rentals.
- Submit weekly inspections of sea cans and other supplies.
- Ensure equipment is inspected, cleaned, dried, charged, and stored after use.
- Report equipment damage and repairs to the Superintendent.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
- Extensive experience in civil construction, with a required minimum of 2 years experience within the Foreperson role, with a proven track record of overseeing projects from conception to completion.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a construction team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, management, clients, and subcontractors.
- Solid understanding of construction principles, practices, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
