THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are currently seeking an Electrical Apprentice to join our team! Reporting directly to the General Manager in collaboration with the operations team, you would work to fulfill the electrical needs of our client buildings and facilities with fire and life safety electrical needs.

Responsibilities of the Electrical Apprentice include:

  • Assisting in servicing and troubleshooting AC and DC electrical circuitry and equipment relating to fire and life safety.
  • Supporting fire and life safety installations, including but not limited to wiring and installation of sprinkler compressors, fire pump controllers, emergency lighting units, and fire alarm systems.
  • Learning and assisting with electrical troubleshooting of fire alarm systems and components.
  • Committing to continual education and training to deliver next-level service to our valued clients.
  • Staying up to date with industry standards, product and service changes, and industry best practices.
  • Providing a next level experience when interacting with customers, suppliers, contractors, and team members.
  • Adhering to and embracing the company's Core Values and Occupational Health and Safety protocols.
  • Performing additional duties as they may arise.

PLEASE NOTE:Local applicants only. Candidates selected to fill this position will need to supply a Driver's Abstract and a Criminal Background Check. Additional security clearances will be required to conduct work with our Key Accounts.

The ideal candidate would have the following skills, competencies, and experience:

  • Enrollment in or completion of an electrical apprenticeship program.
  • Previous work experience or interest in fire and life safety applications.
  • Knowledge of or experience working with the BC Building Code and/or BC Fire Code preferred but not required.
  • Valid BC Driver's License (Driver's Abstract required).
  • Ability to accurately assess and troubleshoot various Life Safety systems and provide solution-based details.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  • Must have excellent English communication skills (verbal and written) and a positive friendly attitude.
