We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Engineer with a strong background in Oracle Database Engineering and cloud database solutions. The ideal candidate should have 15-18 years of hands-on experience, the ability to work independently, and expertise in database architecture, high availability, and performance optimization across multiple database engines.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and manage Oracle Databases in a RAC / or Grid environment, with at least 2 years of production support.
  • Deploy and maintain Oracle Grid Infrastructure (release 19 or higher) on Linux environments.
  • Configure and manage ASM Cluster Filesystem and ensure successful operational delivery, including adding new disks to ASM disk groups and following best practices.
  • Perform grid infrastructure patching and upgrades as required.
  • Utilize Oracle Database Resource Manager for efficient resource allocation and optimization.
  • Automate database tasks using Ansible, scripting, and other automation tools.
  • Configure and manage huge pages on Linux for performance optimization.
  • Provide production support for high-availability databases, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Configure and support Oracle Active Data Guard for disaster recovery and high availability.
  • Design and implement database architecture and replication using Oracle Golden Gate and Oracle Advanced Security Option.
  • Perform application/database troubleshooting during outages and provide solutions and root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Analyze performance issues using AWS Performance Insights and identify/eliminate database bottlenecks, such as top elapsed times and throughput limitations.
  • Optimize low-performance application queries and overall database performance.
  • Support multiple database engines, including PostgreSQL (Aurora), NoSQL (DynamoDB), and MySQL.
  • Strong in PL-SQL .
  • Strong in identifying and optimizing the exiting database queries.
  • Assess and plan for scalable growth with current and possible future database architectures and systems to meet future business needs.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Strong experience with Oracle RAC and Oracle Grid Infrastructure (19c or higher).
  • Expertise in ASM Cluster Filesystem management and operational best practices.
  • Experience with Oracle Active Data Guard for high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Proficiency in database architecture, Oracle Advanced Security Option, and Oracle Golden Gate.
  • Knowledge of cloud environments, specifically AWS and Oracle Cloud.
  • Experience working with RDS infrastructure in AWS, including Performance Insights.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting performance issues, query optimization, and resolving database bottlenecks.
  • Familiarity with huge pages on Linux.

Compensation
Good faith, target annual salary range is $140,000 - $160,000 CAD and is commensurate with experience. Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience, and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
