Job Title: Contracts Administrator
Reporting directly to Senior Contracts Lead, the Contracts Administrator will be responsible for contract management, compliance, and communication, advising and consulting with multi-disciplinary teams on our Eskay Creek project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction contracts, procurement, experience in a new build environment within heavy industry, ideally mining, along with excellent organizational and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Contract Administration:
- Oversee and administer all contracts related to the construction phase of the Eskay Creek project. Ensure all contract terms are being met and resolve any issues or discrepancies as they arise.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, amendments, purchase orders, and other related documents. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and safety requirements specific to the mining industry.
- Monitor, track, and process change orders. Work with the project team to assess the impact of changes and manage variations to contract terms.
- Interface with project & site groups for all contracting requirements from start to finish, including developing tender schedules, defining commercial structures, compiling RFP documentation, managing RFI communications, evaluating proposals, recommending for award, and final contract negotiations & execution.
- Lead the continuous improvement and execution of Skeena Resources contracting strategy, policies, and guidelines.
- Ensure that the terms of contractual agreements are written in language that is legally binding and in accordance with Skeena policies.
Risk & Claims Management:
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to contracts and claims. Address any disputes or issues that may arise with contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Regularly liaise with multi disciplinary teams across the organization to ensure that all Skeena teams are adhering to provincial and federal legislation and internal Skeena policies
Vendor & Supplier Coordination:
- Collaborate with procurement teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of services and materials as per contractual terms.
- Assist in negotiating contract terms and conditions and provide support in finalizing contracts with key stakeholders.
Reporting & Communication:
- Provide regular reports on contract performance, including any deviations, risks, and compliance updates to senior management. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing support to the project management team by resolving contract-related issues and providing advice on contractual obligations and compliance.
- Demonstrate social awareness, commitment and compliance with Skeena Resources opportunity sharing agreements, always showing a socially responsible behavior with the Community and with the Company.
The Ideal Candidate
Education / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in contracts administration, ideally within the construction or mining industry. Experience in large-scale industrial New Build Construction environments is preferred.
Experience / Skills:
- Mining experience is essential, ideally in a mine construction environment.
- Knowledge of current and legally-binding contractual language and terminology.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- Ability to identify, analyze, and suggest solutions for problems, customer complaints, and client concerns.
- Working within or supporting development of an IBA/IBCA in Canada.
- Experience in EPCM contracting, procurement or contractor management is desired.
- Strong computer skills using MS office suite – is required.
- Knowledge of enterprise level software packages is necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must possess very strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, tact, and diplomacy.
- Leadership attributes to influence and persuade a course of action with multiple competing priorities.
- Demonstrated capability and experience working with Indigenous governments/communities including history, protocols, values, and governance and implementing those values is considered an asset.
Work Location & Conditions
This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.
The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena's Travel Policy.
There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is CA$75,000 - CA$100,000, in line with the competitive job market for roles carried out in remote work locations in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
