Position Overview:
As our Assistant Parts Manager, you'll play a key role in keeping our truck and trailer operations running smoothly by supporting the parts department. You'll assist in managing inventory, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring our technicians and customers receive the high-quality parts and service they need. This position requires an organized and proactive team player who can help meet demand, maintain efficiency, and uphold excellent service standards. Job Duties:
- Lead, mentor, and support the parts team to drive department success
- Clearly communicate expectations and goals to the parts staff
- Handle administrative tasks related to parts management
- Ensure team members stay current with ARC and VVG University training
- Process parts returns, warranty claims, and vendor-related transactions
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment across all departments
- Oversee payroll reporting for parts department staff
- Assist the Parts Manager in identifying and addressing areas for improvement
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships while managing complaints effectively
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Heavy Duty Parts Technician
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer applications
- Ability to make informed and strategic business decisions
- Strong analytical skills to assess data, optimize operations, and solve complex problems effectively
