GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT
Under the direction of the Fitness Centre Manager, the Fitness Centre Representative will be responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all members and guests. This role involves maintaining the fitness center's equipment, providing excellent customer service, and supporting members in achieving their fitness goals.
The position will aid as it relates to the creation of effective and innovative fitness and recreation programs for children, youth, adults, and Elders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet and assist members and guests, answer questions, and provide information about fitness center services and programs.
Enforce fitness center rules and regulations to ensure a safe environment for all users. Respond to emergencies and provide first aid if necessary.
Handle member check-ins, process membership applications, and maintain accurate records. Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies.
Provide support to children, youth, families and individuals using the Fitness Centre and participating in associated programming
Support the implementation of social, recreational and traditional activities during extended and other hours as assigned.
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the fitness center, including equipment, locker rooms, and common areas. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks including sweeping and/or washing floors, snow removal, garbage removal, or other duties as assigned
Provide support to the monitoring and evaluation of fitness centre programs and activities
Maintaining confidentiality and security of client records including records management and reporting systems
Adhere to all policies and guidelines in place
May perform other related duties as assigned.

INNOVATION
It is expected that operating in the Fitness Centre, the Fitness Centre Representative will work to seek out innovation within the provision of fitness related programming, while working to support the overall health and well-being of community members, including:
- Assist in finding new ways to engage community members in Fitness programs, activities and education

Day to day decisions in providing fitness services and programs to community
IMPACT OF RESULTS
Results achieved affect the overall health of Waycobah, including community members access to fitness and recreation services. This position is key to providing on-going fitness and recreation services in the community, and vital to the smooth running of the Fitness Center.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
A Physical Environment
- Works mainly out of the Fitness Center.
- Some travel involved to attend meetings and training opportunities
B Physical Effort
- Requires sitting and working at a computer and telephone
- Often requires light lifting of materials and equipment
C Sensory Attention
- Requires multi-tasking and shifting attention between different fitness activities and clients.
D Mental Pressures
- Often requires working with a population that has many health challenges
- Fitness Center can be very busy at times and it is challenging to meet everybodys needs and ensure that each client accesses respectful and diligent service.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
Completion of Grade 10 is required
CPR and First Aid certificate is mandatory, or willingness to obtain
Ability to demonstrate and maintain a healthy, self-sufficient lifestyle
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Previous experience in a fitness centre or customer service role is preferred.
