Who You Are

As an Account Manager, you are the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications. You will collaborate with internal teams, oversee project requirements, and provide clear communication to both clients and senior management. This role requires a proactive, problem-solving mindset—viewing each project with the same ownership as a sales representative.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, including retailers, contractors, builders, and architects.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for client inquiries, complaints, and concerns, ensuring timely resolution.

  • Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction with products and services.

  • Think critically and proactively analyze projects to anticipate and prevent potential issues.

2. Account & Project Management

  • Work with project teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products and services.

  • Coordinate with internal teams (logistics, production, customer service) to manage client projects and resolve operational issues.

  • Place orders, assist with quotations, and handle purchase orders while tracking production and delivery timelines.

  • Monitor and manage "Red File Order" projects with tight deadlines.

3. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and performance metrics for management review.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, contracts, and transactions.

  • Collaborate with the shipping department on inventory updates and product arrivals.

  • Act promptly regarding discontinued products, ensuring clients and sales reps are notified immediately.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in sales, account management, or customer service, preferably in the flooring, construction, or building materials industry.

  • Strong understanding of various flooring products, installation processes, and industry standards.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Proficiency in CRM software (P21 preferred), Monday.com, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Highly effective negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Core Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Customer-focused approach

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Attention to detail and patience

  • Teamwork and collaboration

  • Accountability and dependability
