Job Summary:
S.R.T. MedStaff is currently seeking a Nursing Supervisor to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area. Reporting to the Manager of the Nursing Program, the Nursing Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing our team of Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses in our Community Nursing Program within the City of York and Mississauga and the Shift Nursing Program.
Responsibilities:
• Provide supervision, support and oversight for frontline nurses (RNs/RPNs).
• Ensure the delivery of safe, competent, patient-centered care in line with S.R.T. Med-Staff's Mission, Vision, and Values and CNO Standards
• Conduct home visits to monitor field staff's skills, performance, and patient interactions.
• Work with the extended management team in implementing quality improvement initiatives for field staff
• Maintain flexibility for responding to impromptu events and visits with field staff.
• Identify the educational needs of staff and assist them in achieving learning objectives.
• Ensure adherence to ethical practices and investigate any reported ethical dilemmas.
• Conduct probationary and annual performance reviews for staff.
• Participate in orientation and educational sessions.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule.
• Complete all other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Candidate in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Good understanding of health care services and delivery processes in the community.
• Previous experience in leadership roles (community setting preferred)
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience with Information Technology: Microsoft Office applications and Internet.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle is a requirement.
• Second language is considered an asset.
