The Position:

Summit Search Group has been retained by Keystone Agricultural Producers (KAP) on the recruitment of their next Finance and Operations Manager. KAP Manitoba's general farm policy organization, dedicated to providing a unified voice for farmers on issues affecting agriculture. With a vision for a sustainable and profitable future for all Manitoba farmers, KAP collaborates with governments, industry, and stakeholders to address overarching agricultural concerns. As a grassroots policy organization, KAP's initiatives and policies are driven directly by its members.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Finance and Operations Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring financial stability while also overseeing a wide range of administrative and operational functions. This position is responsible for financial management, board and event support, administrative leadership, and HR coordination. The role requires a self-directed individual who can work independently while collaborating effectively across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial oversight, including advanced bookkeeping, budgeting, reporting, audits, and compliance with financial policies.
  • Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including the AGM, Advisory Council, Board, and Finance Committee.
  • Process payroll, administer employee benefits, track time records, and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
  • Support the General Manager by taking on administrative and operational tasks to enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Handle board-related administrative support, including planning and preparing materials for board meetings.
  • Assist with event planning and execution.
  • Manage the day-to-day administrative functions, including HR tasks and office operations.
  • Oversee the onboarding and integration of new software systems.
  • Working with the Manager of Membership Services to support financial components of membership data and systems, including accounts payable/receivable for membership accounts, liaising with designated purchasers/third parties, etc.
  • Ensure accurate program financial reporting, process funding agency invoices, and manage grant financial compliance.
  • Handle tax filings, government remittances, insurance renewals, and ensure adherence to legal and financial regulations.
  • Act as a liaison with government entities when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (CPA designation not required but considered an asset).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, including bookkeeping, reporting, and payroll.
  • Strong operational and administrative experience with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills with proficiency in financial software, including QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a not-for-profit setting is a strongly preferred.
