Position Overview

The Specialist, Investor Services you will play a pivotal role in driving transformation as a key member of the Destination Development Team. You will be responsible for supporting lead generation, profiling, creating effective content and communication resources. You are an eager, proactive professional with a strong background in content creation, and digital marketing, ready to drive Travel Alberta's investment attraction efforts. As a Specialist you will also provide critical support to the Investor Services Team in pursing investment for new attractions, accommodations, and transportation solutions to enhance Alberta's visitor economy along with executing on a content strategy to drive additional investor interest.

Key responsibilities include conducting investor and sector research, as well as creating engaging content to attract investors. This role will directly contribute to advancing stakeholders engagement and communications, to support the team in driving targeted tourism development across the province.

You demonstrate a high level of competency in balancing both internal and external engagement. As a company ambassador, you consistently uphold the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity in all communications and interactions.

Core Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Lead Generation Research and Analysis

  • Undertake desktop research to identify companies with expansion potential or investment alignment and provide briefings to management.

  • Assist in identifying potential leads through various channels such as social media, webinars, and industry research.

  • Help maintain and update customer relationship management systems with lead data and follow-up actions.

  • Monitor and track lead engagement metrics and provide quarterly reports on performance.

  • Research new lead generation tools and techniques to optimize outreach.

  • Assist in developing and executing email marketing campaigns to nurture leads.

  • Own action log and follows up with internal team members on priority projects.

  • Identify and research lead generation opportunities and support pipeline lead strategies who have the potential to invest in Alberta's tourism industry.

Content Strategy Execution

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to plan, create, and distribute content across multiple platforms (blogs, social media, email, etc.).

  • Conduct research to identify trending topics and audience interests to inform content planning.

  • Develop client-oriented pitch decks using up-to-date desktop research.

  • Stays current with new and planned tourism projects and environmental factors (such as policies) across the province that have the potential to be of interest to investment leads.

  • Help manage content calendars, and engagement with key clients and intermediaries ensuring timely publishing and consistency across channels.

  • Assist in editing and proofreading content for clarity and grammar.

  • Track content performance and assist with analysis to refine future strategies.

Team Support

  • Supports the team with adhering to internal policies, processes and procedures.

  • Assists the team with the development of itineraries, site visits and participation at other client-oriented events for future investors.

  • Manages shared email inboxes, identifies appropriate respondents and ensures timely and accurate responses.

  • Support the investor services team in providing bespoke services to suit individual client needs.

Required Qualifications

Required Qualification (Essential) - Education/Training/Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration. Combination of experience and education may be considered.

Competencies, Experience, Knowledge, Skills

  • A minimum of 3 years' work experience in a business environment, preferably in a business development, strategic development, sustainable development, or client services role.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and performance measurement.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Solid understanding and experience with lead generation tools / CRM system.

  • Strong experience in delivering and measuring performance of content marketing plans across multiple digital and social media platforms.

  • A self-starter, motivated, curious and has an eagerness to learn and grow.

  • Builds rapport easily with others and can relate openly and comfortably with diverse groups.

  • Experience in working on project teams across multiple functional areas.

  • Resourceful and have experience doing desktop research to help inform deliverables.

  • Flexible with an ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

  • Communicate effectively using both verbal and written communications.

  • Understanding of core business principles including international business, marketing.

  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and address complex issues.
