Position Summary

The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting and engaging with companies and organizations to secure food and beverage sales, meeting space rentals, and ancillary services. This role ensures the seamless coordination and execution of events, delivering exceptional service while maximizing hotel revenue. The Catering Sales Manager oversees the prompt, courteous, and efficient delivery of products and services to meet client needs and uphold the hotel's profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manages customer relationships by drafting proposals and contracts, responding to inquiries, and coordinating logistics for social and corporate events, including setup and execution of meetings, meals, and special events. Provides leadership and oversight for catering and event services managers, as well as other departments and team members responsible for event execution.
  • Represents the hotel in client interactions, conducting sales calls and meetings via phone or in person to secure group and local catering business. Hosts prospective clients, leads property tours, and promotes hotel facilities and services. Within established parameters, negotiates contracts and vendor commission agreements.
  • Assists with the physical setup of hotel or client equipment and furnishings as needed to facilitate efficient event turnaround.
  • Provides direct customer assistance as required, including lifting items up to 20 lbs.
  • Audits customer invoices and departmental charges to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Supervises staff in the creation and distribution of precise and professional written materials.
  • Ensures that contracts, menus, correspondence, and reports adhere to Hilton standards and policies.
  • Facilitates re-booking of events and follows up with clients by sending thank-you correspondence.
  • Compiles post-event food and beverage reports for review and analysis.
