Why we have this role:

At GVF, we're embarking on an exciting journey to implement a new ERP system, and were looking for a dedicated Master Data Coordinator to play a key role in ensuring the success of this initiative. As a Master Data Coordinator, you'll be responsible for managing and maintaining the integrity of the company's most valuable assetour data. This is a critical position that ensures the accuracy, consistency, and availability of essential data across various departments.

Youll be the go-to person for managing data entry, updates, and quality control, while also overseeing the governance of master data across systems. This position offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with teams across the organization, ensuring that data aligns, remains accurate, and complies with company policies.

Your work will directly impact the success of our ERP implementation, driving operational efficiency, and empowering data-driven decision-making. By safeguarding the integrity of our data, youll help GVF move forward with innovation and operational excellence at the forefront.

Working with us:

This is a permanent, full-time position based out of our head office at 151 Savage Drive, Cambridge, Ontario. The standard work hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, however, please be advised that you may be required to work outside of these hours from time to time given the nature of the role.

What youll do:

  • Master Data Management: Maintain and oversee master data records across various systems (ERP, CRM), ensuring consistency, accuracy, and integrity.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams (IT, Sales, Finance, Operations) to align and integrate data, fostering a culture of system usage across departments.
  • Data Governance: Assist in the implementation of a company-wide data quality assurance program, monitor data quality, and advise IT on system improvements from a data governance perspective.
  • Data Classification & Maintenance: Classify and categorize master data per business rules and internal processes, ensuring timely updates and compliance.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the go-to point of contact for all data-related queries, ensuring clear communication and collaboration across departments to resolve data discrepancies.
  • Data Validation & Reporting: Perform data validation to ensure accuracy, generate reports, and provide analysis on data quality and trends to support decision-making.
  • Training & Support: Design and deliver training programs on data management tools like Power BI, providing ongoing support for data-related inquiries.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance data management efficiency and develop and maintain Master Data Governance plans.
  • Data Security & Compliance: Ensure compliance with data policies, regulations, and security protocols, including regular audits and safeguarding sensitive information.

Experience we like:

  • 3+ years in data management, data analysis, or a similar role with a strong focus on data governance
  • Associate diploma or bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Management, or a related field
  • Familiarity with database management systems and data governance is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in data tools and software such as Microsoft Power BI, SQL, Excel, and other data analytics programs is an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to analyze large datasets with precision and insight
  • A keen eye for detail, ensuring data integrity and accuracy in every task
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders across various departments and levels. A true team player who builds strong, collaborative relationships
  • Comfortable having difficult conversations, assertive yet approachable, and able to maintain professionalism while being persistent, but not pushy
  • Optional certifications like Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) are a bonus
