Role
Reporting to the Vice President of Preconstruction, the Preconstruction Engineer is integral part of the preconstruction team. The Preconstruction Engineer will be responsible for planning and managing preconstruction activities, including conceptual design, cost estimation, project scheduling, and coordination with various stakeholders. This role is crucial in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with designers, purchasers, estimators and schedulers to build comprehensive responses for EPC bid opportunities
- Prepare detailed Engineering cost estimates for construction projects.
- Analyze project specifications and drawings to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of preconstruction activities.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing and availability of materials.
- Conduct value engineering assessments to optimize project costs and performance.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for clients.
- Provide technical support to the preconstruction team throughout the bid process
- Provide technical support and guidance to the project team throughout the construction process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Minimum of [1] years of experience in preconstruction or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software and project management tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
