About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Shop Technician to join our team! This position is responsible for general maintenance of the shop machines including supporting with inspection checks, safely handling materials, fluids, and equipment. The Shop Technician will act as the Shipper & Receiver with securing shipments to ensure work packages are packed and loaded correctly.

Position Details

• Position Status: Full-Time, Permanent
• Location: Calgary, AB
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Duties and Responsibilities

• Completing daily rigging, and forklift inspections.
• Responsible for performing pre-use inspection of all machinery and tools to be used.
• Assembly and testing of hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
  
• Assisting in maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
• Responsible for assisting with maintenance and safe operation of equipment.
• Supporting shipping and receiving operations, including material management, handling incoming and outgoing shipments, and managing equipment.
• Communication with their colleagues, supervisors, and managers.
• Participating in any training provided by the employer.
• Protecting their own and others health and safety at or in the vicinity of the work site.
• Using all hazard controls and wearing personal protection equipment designated or provided by the employer or required by the OHS legislation.
• Reporting health and safety concerns and conditions to their employer or supervisor.
• Cooperating with any person exercising a duty under the OHS legislation.
• Refraining from causing or participating in harassment and violence.
• Cooperating with their employer or supervisor by following health and safety rules for the job.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Able to display working knowledge in operating equipment:
  • Forklift - Safely operating forklift within manufacturers parameters.
• Experience with utilizing various hand, power, pneumatic tools an asset.
• Able to work both independently and as a part of a team.
  
• Able to lift heavy material up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• Able to communication effectively with employees and supervisors.
• Able to read and interpret work packages.
