Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing, building and configuring applications to meet business process and application requirements, leveraging technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
- Directing the development team in all aspects of the software development life cycle, including design, development, coding, testing, and debugging, to deliver high-quality solutions
- Writing testable, scalable, and efficient code, leading by example, and setting coding standards for the team
- Ensure alignment of client and vendor code with Guidewire recommended guidelines, best practices and cloud standards where applicable
- Planning and documenting comprehensive technical specifications for features or system design, ensuring a clear roadmap for development and implementation.
- Ensuring product alignment with OOTB Guidewire product and analyze requirements for customization to ensure future upgradability
- Working with Guidewire to log tickets and understand digital roadmap features coming in future cloud releases
- Oversee daily tasks for developers, conduct code reviews, ensure code is aligned with security standards and industry best practices
- Proactively look for gaps in development logic, work with the team to overcome complex challenges and assist the team in navigating complex environment landscapes
- Conducting impact analysis, determine recommended approaches and lead implementation of complex solutions
- Providing technical consulting to business analysts, and technical associates, while working in close
- coordination with the architecture team
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and effectively translate them into technical requirements for the development team
Requirements
- Overall 10+ years in design, development of systems – preferably within Insurance
- 5+ years of hands on experience of Guidewire Policy Centre, Claim Centre and Billing Centre (v7 or above) and Guidewire Digital products such as Customer Engage and JDP
- Guidewire cloud certification
- Working experience for Guidewire Policy Centre, Claim Centre and Billing Centre with hands on experience with messaging, api, working with web service, startable plugin and batch job etc.
- Possess skills and knowledge of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) methodologies and
- processes such as object-oriented programming, distributed, and cross-platform program
- communication.
- Possess a strong understanding of open systems architecture including integrations with vendor packages, relational databases, message queues, web services and legacy systems is must
- Experience working with at least 1 major Insurance carrier – either full time or as a consultant
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to all audiences verbally and in writing
- Experienced with Agile methodologies as well as devops tools
- Proven track record of creating clear, concise deliverables that reflect a deep understanding of
- Guidewire Policy Centre and Billing Centre and the out of the box software functionality as well as Guidewire Digital
- Jutro out of the box components or JDP platform
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience operating and interfacing with business management, including negotiation and
- presentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Understands communication channels and
- escalates appropriately.
- Must be able to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance
- Personal time management skills and ability to meet individual and team deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Worker Compensation Lines
- Skilled with JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket or equivalent tool
- Experience with the full SDLC, including the end-to-end test cycle and agile/iterative
Skillset
- Overall 10+ years in design, development of systems – preferably within Insurance
- 5+ years of hands on experience of Guidewire Policy Centre and Billing Centre (v7 or higher) and Guidewire Jutro or JDP Platform
- 4-years Bachelor's degree, Excellent organization and communication skills
- 5+ years in an Agile environment with exposure to SCRUM, and Lean methodology
- Strong problem-solving skills, able to prioritize among many conflicting n3eeds, advocate a course of action, and pursue it consistently but flexible and responsive to dynamic situations
- Ability to provide expert technical advice, guidance and mentoring to project team members and stakeholders
- Ability to resolve complex technology/systems issues, determining areas of risk and recommending innovative alternatives and options for resolution to meet client needs
