partner staffing on behalf of our Client, we are seeking a highly motivated Junior to Intermediate Wildlife Biologist to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in planning, conducting, and reporting on wildlife studies, habitat assessments, and environmental impact assessments. This role requires strong fieldwork experience, data analysis skills, and a passion for ecological conservation.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct wildlife field surveys, including habitat assessments, breeding bird surveys, amphibian monitoring, and mammal tracking.
  • Identify and document wildlife species using visual, auditory, and remote sensing methods.
  • Assist in environmental impact assessments (EIA) and regulatory permitting processes.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret biological data using GIS and statistical software.
  • Prepare technical reports, including baseline assessments, impact analyses, and mitigation plans.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including ecologists, engineers, and regulatory specialists.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best management practices.
  • Participate in research and conservation initiatives as part of project work.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in wildlife biology, ecological consulting, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of wildlife species, habitats, and ecological assessment methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using GPS, GIS mapping software, and statistical analysis tools.
  • Experience with regulatory processes, such as EIA, Species at Risk assessments, and environmental permitting.
  • Strong technical writing skills for reporting and documentation.
  • Ability to work in remote locations and varying environmental conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel for fieldwork.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Certification as, or eligibility to become, a Professional Biologist (P.Biol.) or Registered Professional Biologist (RPBio) is an asset.
