Summary:
The Lane Closure Technician will play an essential role in supporting safe traffic control on all Clearway Construction projects. They will be responsible for maintaining and implementing traffic control plans and procedures that will ensure the safety of our construction crews, drivers on the road, and pedestrians, near and around our job sites. This will include the set up, removal and maintenance of traffic control in work zones, while also providing recommendation and guidance to Construction and Operations teams to drive continuous improvement.
This will be a Supervisory role, as the Lane Closure Technician will also be responsible for a team of Construction Traffic Control Flaggers.
Location: Clearway Job Sites located across the Greater Vancouver Area.
Hours of Operations:7:00 am to 5:00 pm (PST)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain strong traffic control plans per each Clearway Construction project as assigned.
- Assisting with all traffic control planning at the time of Tender.
- Providing safe set up and removal of traffic control as based on specifications.
- Collaborate with the Project Team to ensure that all procedures are followed on site in regards to Traffic Safety.
- Assist with the set up and maintenance of project signage and barricades, including daily barricade reports.
- Filling out and signing off on pre-job paperwork, including FLRAs and TMPs.
- Regularly reviewing traffic control plans to ensure adherence to the project needs.
- Assist with the hiring, training, mentorship and supervision of Construction Traffic Control Flaggers.
- Train labour force in regards to traffic and equipment safety.
- Responsible for completing traffic hazard assessments.
- Provide recommendations to the Project Team as needed in regards to Traffic Control.
- Complete additional assignments and responsibilities as requested by the Operations and Health and Safety Teams as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of BC LCT experience.
- At least 2+ years of Traffic Control experience.
- Must maintain valid BCCSA TCP Ticket/Certification, if not the incumbent must agree to get certified as part of the employment agreement.
- Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize under strict time constraints.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including but not limited to: lifting up to 45 lbs, working outdoors in all weather conditions, and standing for long periods of time uninterrupted.
- Be self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Strong client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Must maintain a valid British Columbia Drivers License.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada no work permit sponsorship is available for this position.

Hourly Range: $28.00 - $32.00 (CAD)
