Compensation: $19.73/hour
Position Summary: As a Recreation Assistant, you will support the recreation team in providing engaging and enjoyable activities for the residents at Chateau Three Hills. You will help facilitate social and recreational programs, assist with event setup, and encourage resident participation in activities that promote well-being and social interaction.
The following job responsibilities are essential for the success of this position.
  • Assist in planning, setting up, and facilitating recreational and social activities, including games, crafts, exercise programs, and group outings.
  • Encourage and support residents in participating in activities to enhance engagement, socialization, and overall well-being.
  • Maintain a clean, organized recreation space, ensuring supplies and equipment are properly stored and readily available.
  • Assist in preparing and distributing activity calendars, promotional materials, and event notices to keep residents informed.
  • Accompany residents on outings, providing assistance and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • Welcome and support volunteers participating in recreation programs, helping integrate them into activities.
  • Track resident participation and provide feedback to the recreation team to support continuous improvement of programs.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements/Certification Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, as well as coursework in recreation, social services, or a related field, is an asset.
  • Previous experience working with seniors or in a recreation setting is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities/Experience Requirements:
  • Extensive MS Office, Outlook and Excel expertise.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and patient attitude.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) is an asset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors.
